Personal Profile

H.E. Mr. Djebah has over 29 years of professional experience and expertise spanning public administration, journalism, international law and diplomacy, trade and investment, communications management, public policy, stakeholders’ engagement, and peace-building, planning, research, data analysis, media, and government relations. Amb. Djebah was educated in Nigeria, Sweden, and the United States of America, where he earned two Masters’s degrees, a bachelor’s degree and a post-graduate Certificate-Masters of International Law and Diplomacy (MILD, University of Lagos, Nigeria), Masters of Global Journalism (MA, Orebro University, Sweden), Certificate in Creating Collaborative Solutions (Harvard Program), and a Bachelor’s Degree (BA, University of Calabar, Nigeria) in Theatre Arts. 

Djebah’s distinguished career cuts across both the private and public sectors in Nigeria. He has worked at The Guardian, This Day (two leading newspapers in Nigeria), among others where he rose to the pinnacle of his professional career as an editor. In 2006, he was the only Nigerian journalist invited by the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York, USA, to serve on an expert panel of four on a public policy template for the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD). In 2002, he served on the Federal Government of Nigeria‘s NEPAD Country team. After an excellent career as a journalist, he joined the public sector in 2007 following his appointment as Delta State Honourable Commissioner for Information (2007-2011). Between 2011-2015, he served as the Senior Adviser on Foreign Relations to the Delta State Governor. As part of his role in that capacity, he coordinated the Delta State high-level United Nations (UN) Performance Report, which focused on key sectors such as Agriculture, Education, Health, Water, Environment, Food, etc. 

In carrying out these roles, Mr. Djebah evinced the attributes of professional integrity, team leadership, public spiritedness, creativity, and diligence. Between 2015 – 2020, he also served as Chairman of The New Diplomat, (Accompany with specialty in media content, training, reputation audit and research). In these various roles, Amb. Djebah’s performances have been widely adjudged meritorious, and creditable. Amb. Djebah married with two children, has written and presented papers on governance, diplomacy, public administration, public policy, leadership and the media, among others. He has been Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Kingdom of Thailand since June, 2021.
